About Us
The Triangle Connectivity Collaborative (TCC) formed in 2015 over concerns that protected lands in the Triangle of North Carolina were becoming increasingly fragmented as cities grew and developed. Conservation professionals working in the Triangle gathered around a common cause of wanting to provide habitat connectivity data that could support decision-making by conservation organizations and local governments to consider connectivity conservation needs. In 2016, the group received funding from Orange County and the NC Wildlife Resources Commission’s Partners for Green Growth Program to model habitat connectivity based off the best available data resources. This analysis was completed in 2019 and was then updated by Durham County Open Space Program in 2023, with funding from Burt’s Bees. Additionally, the TCC completed a Strategic Action Plan in 2022, which involved stakeholders representing over 60 organizations.
